Peanut was born on September 5, 2002. We brought him to our house just after he turned eight weeks old. He is quite a riot. He loves all people and most dogs as long as they are not too rowdy or too big. He enjoys chewing on his rope, licking people in the face, nibbling ears, and getting chased around the table. (probably because he knows he can win that game!) He is very smart, and seems to be able to learn any new trick we can think of teaching him.

Peanut visits Santa.

"Yes, Santa, I was a *VERY* good puppy this year!!"

What do you mean spoiled?

Peanut knows he pretty much has the run of the house, but just laying on the bed or couch isn't good enough. He always tries to find a blanket or even a shirt to lay on in addition to being on the bed or couch.

Well, it was me or the chipmunk!

This is the chipmunk toy he got for his Birthday and he pretty much doesn't play with anything else now.

Peanut's Aunt Jill got a new sunroom, and it seems to be quite a hit!

It's my birthday!

Peanut invited a few of his closest friends, Baker and Kelly, over for a birthday party.

August

Graduating from Puppy II class.

"Yeah, the certificate is nice, now where is that treat?!" I don't think Peanut had as much fun in this class as the first one. He didn't "waste" any time playing with the other dogs - he just wanted to scavenge for treat crumbs that the other dogs had missed. We learned some good stuff though, like how to use clicker-training to teach him to do just about anything we can imagine. As long as he gets his favorite treat, he is more than willing to oblige us!

Peanut likes playing with the kong occasionally, especially when it is stuffed with one of his favorite treats.

A warm sunny, day at a local dog park, where about a dozen Cavaliers meet every Sunday afternoon.

He is around 18 lbs and getting pretty close to full size.

Mommy!!! We were watching video we took when we went to visit him at the breeders. He heard himself (and siblings) barking on TV and got very interested. When he saw his Mom (Bianca) he ran over and jumped up to get a closer look. Definitely one of my favorite pictures. (100K)	Every castle needs a good guard dog (39K)	Crashed on the couch after another long day of playing hard (101K)
Peanut meets Baker and Cosmo at the Sunnyvale Dog Park. I took this during their game of "London Bridge Is Falling Down" (96K)	Making a new friend at the Mountain View Dog Park (108K)	Peanut stayed with Buster (Cocker) and Dixie (Poodle) for a few nights and had a great time. Every since then, Dixie has been his best girl. (101K)

February 2003

We finally got a decent camera, so the picture quality should be noticably better after this point.

Ahhhh.... this is the life. The neighborhood kids still argue over whose turn it is to hold him (171K)	After an exhausting time running around the park, ya' gotta make do when it comes time for a drink of water (100K)	Since we don't have another puppy, it's difficult to find somebody warm to snuggle up to all the time (47K)

January 2003

Happy New Year Peanut!

One of his Christmas presents was a new chew toy. It is a rope with Santa on one end and a Christmas tree one the other. He had the star chewed off the tree after just one day! (66K)	Takin' a break from chewing on the nylon bone. (57K)	I didn't do it! (50K)	Peanut graduates from Puppy class, and checks out the fine print (48K)

December 2002

He is getting a little bit bigger. When we brought him home he was about seven pounds, and now he is over 10. Also, his face looks just a little less puppyish.

He still loves to chew - what puppy doesn't?! (53K)	You talkin' to me? Kickin' back with Jess... (21K)	The kids even let Dad have a turn holding him. (42K)	He also really likes a good tummy rub - who wouldn't?! (45K)
Uh, could I try this in an Extra Small? (33K)	He still takes quite a few naps - and knows that a warm lap is way better than a cold tile floor! Actually, he sleeps in his kennel which he loves. We put him down, and he literally runs into it. (39K)	Well, Zachary is faking it for the picture, but Peanut really was zonking out. (35K)

November 2002

Just after Halloween, we brought home our new baby...

He loves to chew! (53K)	...even on fingers! If he bites too hard, we yelp, so he is learning to be pretty gentle. (52K)	The wind was strong this day! Actually, he just likes to run and change direction like he is chasing a rabbit or something. (26K)
Awww Mom, can't I stay out and play just a little longer? This is still my favorite picture of him after almost two months - too bad it is a little blurry. (37K)	At first he liked to chase us around. Now, he would rather have us chase him. That is fine, but it can be a problem when we need to get him because he hasn't learned "come" and he is pretty fast! (51K)	He also enjoys chewing on ears! He is really soft and cuddly. (50K)	Apparently, he knows how to make people happy. (48K)	Of course, he is also a hit with all of the kids in the neighborhood. (47K)
